Yep, we’ve heard ‘em all – some weird and some wonderful. It’s understandable, though, to have questions, and we are only too happy to provide answers. Here we have compiled the questions we most frequently get asked:
What insurance do you provide? Mr Move provides Transit Insurance, which covers loss or damage to your property resulting from fire, flood, overturning, or collision while in the truck, up to the value of $100,000. Mr Move cannot insure your property under any other circumstances, including damage that may occur during loading, unloading, or transit.
Mr Move takes seriously our duty of care with your items, but some of your possessions may warrant a little bit of extra protection. Delicate items may need to be specially wrapped by us, in which case the ‘we break it, we fix it’ guarantee applies. Outside of this, you may weigh up the costs and benefits of purchasing special removals insurance such as http://removalsinsurance.com.au/.
What payment do you accept on the day? Mr Move can take cash or credit card on the day. Cheques are accepted only with prior approval.
How long will it take to move me? And how many boxes will I need? Unfortunately, in the chart below we can only give a ballpark, because every move is so different – different access (stairs, lifts, distance to the truck), different amounts of items to be moved, distance between locations, and general move preparedness. If you need a more precise estimate, Mr Move is more than happy to come out and have a look.
Do you provide fixed quotes? As a general rule, no. A fixed quote requires the trader to estimate the worst case scenario for time and materials to move, and to charge accordingly. If the work is concluded in half the time than estimated, the full charge still applies. It’s much fairer to the average customer to charge per hour, so you only get billed for the time you use. Never fear a cost blow-out; the Mr Move team is trained to work at an efficient pace, so the job gets done quickly while minimising the risk of damage to your property.
Of course, there are cases where a fixed quote is required, for example for legal reasons, and Mr Move is more than happy to oblige.
Do you move on Sundays or public holidays? Yes, we do, by prior arrangement only. Please note that the hourly rate is higher on these days.
What time can you arrive? There are three time slots available: morning (8am), midday (between 11am-2pm, and afternoon (3pm or after). Due to the nature of the business, the morning slot is the only time of day with a guaranteed start time. For midday and afternoon time slots, Mr Move provides a courtesy call on the morning of your move to confirm a more specific arrival time.
